Fairfield County JFS has a variety of programs to assist families with food
and nutrition. The Ohio DIRECTION Card is similar to a credit card and holds
eligibility information and Food Stamp allotments. The customer must have their
benefits loaded on the card each month. Once the card is loaded, the customer
may spend the allotment at any participating grocery store or vendor in the State of Ohio.
The Ohio DIRECTION Card virtually eliminates the use of paper food stamps, reduces fraud
and makes the entire process of using the service much more efficient.
